Coastal Colors Paint Out at the House of Refuge 2026Our Muse. Our Coast. Our 150th Anniversary.
Calling all plein air artists!
We invite you to a place that sparked so much beauty last year. Our inaugural Coastal Colors Paint Out was a tremendous success, and your talent brought the House of Refuge to life in unforgettable ways.
In 2026, we will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the House of Refuge and the completion of its major restoration. The oldest building in Martin County stands renewed and ready to inspire. This year, we welcome our plein air artists to return to the House as their muse and to help mark this historic moment with fresh eyes and vibrant interpretation.
Coastal Colors 2026 will take place April 11 and 12, with shuttle service provided from the Elliott Museum. All plein air artists are welcome.
Come paint history. Come paint the muse. Come be part of the crescendo that defines this milestone year.
Registration information will follow soon.
We cannot wait to welcome you!
Warm regards,
Catherine Larsen
Keeper of the House
