THE COALITION AUDITIONS ARE HERE!
The Coalition Theater is holding auditions for a new long-form improv house team! The new team will perform in our staple House Special show every other Friday at 9PM starting in March or April. This team will be led by Coalition selected coach Michelle Murgia.
We are also holding auditions for a long-form musical improv show run that will perform every Friday night in February. For this show, Josh Blubaugh will be the improv performance coach and Preston Bradsher will be coaching Musical Performance.
NOTE: The January 4th Auditions are for BOTH the House Team & the musical improv run. You will be able to indicate which your are interested in audition for day of (or if you would like to audition for both!)
January 4, 2025 Audition Times:
9:45AM - 11AM
11:15AM- 12:30PM
1:45PM- 3PM
-Callbacks for the House Team will be held on Sunday, January 5th between 1pm and 5:30pm
-Musical Improv Call backs will be 1/5 between 9 and 12:30
If you are auditioning for both projects, you will need to attend both callbacks.
WHAT WE REQUIRE:
• Previous improv training- Completion of Coalition Improv 301 or higher with a firm grasp on mechanics/technique and longform improv. Performers are expected to complete improv 401 once cast.
•Ability to practice weekly in the lead-up to your debut, and on a consistent basis during your run. (weekly, bi-weekly, etc as needed to ensure consistent show quality.)
•All team members must be 18 years or older.
The new House Team will be coached by Michelle Murgia. Michelle has been with the Coalition Theater for a decade, performing in shows like Til Death Do Us Part & The Rehappening, holding it down on various house teams and sketch shows, and more recently co-directing Wrestling Minus Wrestling & Once More With Feeling: The Buffy The Vampire Slayer Musical. With a strong background in dance and choreography, she brings a dynamic sense of movement and creativity to her work. Known for her world-class impersonations of friends, her soft spot for little old dogs, and a slightly suspicious obsession with the moon, she enjoys the absurdity that this life brings and the chuckles we get to share along the way.
As a coach, Michelle hopes to amplify unique voices and create a cohesive group identity rooted in expression and playfulness.
