Coaching My Own Way is part memoir and part an instructional guide for the coaches of tomorrow. This "fun to read" and "honest" book is the story of Coach Mike Becker's journey from starting as the youngest coach in Florida High School Sports and NCAA Division I Track and Cross Country to being inducted into three Hall of Fames. His story telling, which span a half century, are a mixture of lessons learned, successes achieved and more than anything a revelation of the greatness of the human spirit. They are told from the heart.

Mike Becker has been a track and field coach in South Florida since his graduation from Princeton University in 1981. From his rookie year at the Palmer School in 1981 where he was the youngest head high school coach in the State of Florida to 1987 where at Florida International University he became the nation's youngest NCAADivision 1 head track and cross country coach to the present where he coaches at Ransom Everglades School, Mike Becker has always led with creativity and passion. He does not measure his successes with wins and losses but rather in measuring how his student athletes grow as people and leaders.
