About this Event

Connecting with creatives in Bristol

Organised by Jodie - the smiley face behind Sunshine for Breakfast, founder of the Bristol Pop-Up Shop and creative business coach. I have a studio space in Old Market with three other lovely creatives, but we're often like passing ships in the night and I've been craving connection with fellow business owners.

I'm also very good at guiding people on how to plan and untangle their busy brains, helping them to create a clear road map ahead. But I'm not so good at creating the time to do this for myself. Or holding myself accountable for the things I keep saying I'll do.

So I've decided to dedicate (at least) 2 hours a month to co-working. A time to connect with other creative souls, but also a time to bookmark in the diary that I'll review my goals, targets, intentions and knuckle down to reconnect with my business focus.

Or of course it might just end up being a total admin-clearing morning... but either way I know I'll get a tonne of stuff done. And meet some lovely people in the process too.

Who's this co-working event for?

Whether you're a maker and creator, a writer or designer, a VA or project manager, full or part-timer, or you're someone who just thrives on creativity... this co-working gathering is a lovely space to connect.

You're also someone who's looking to get the proverbial done.

This isn't a networking event, though you will hopefully meet some rather nice new people. This is first and foremost a co-working spacce, to carve out time to smash through your task list so you can share the satisfaction with others sailing the same determinned boat.

If you're looking to network, promote your business and just have a good old chinwag, then this isn't quite the right space for you. ?

Is there an agenda for this co-working session?

No agenda as such, but I would like to dedicate a good chunk of time to getting work done and not just sit and chat. So I'm thinking a flowing morning:

Arrive for 10am - Brief introductions round the table.

By 10:20 ish - We're heads down and focussed for an hour.

Around 11:30 ish - Heads up, stretch those arms, check in. Celebrate smashing that power hour.

Of course if questions come up or you need to bounce an idea around, we're all here to support each other. Equally if you're here to focus, "headphones in" are very welcomed for a polite 'do not disturb' signal.

Co-working in Bristol Cafés

In May, I'll be in the delightful Bristol Loaf at the Bristol Beacon. Laptops welcome, plugs are dotted around, plus excellent coffee and delicious sweet & savoury treats available. So long as we purchase a coffee (or two) and a well deserved eleveneses, the wonderful Bristol Loaf Team are happy to host us.

Getting to Loaf at the Bristol Beacon

Loaf at the Bristol Beacon is in the heart of Bristol's City Centre, set just behind the Bristol Hippodrome and a few minutes walk from College Green and Bristol Cathedral. The Google Maps view is here if you'd like to check directions.

Bristol Beacon is a 20 minutes walk from Temple Meads and 10 mins from Broadmead. Plenty of buses stop right in the centre near the Bristol Hippodrome and .

Accessibility

Bristol Beacon has step-free access, lifts throughout and accessible toilets. Plenty more access information is available on the Beacon's website.
