Co-Design Workshops for the Beckton Parks Masterplan

We are excited to welcome you to the Co-Design Workshops for Beckton Parks Masterplan taking place across the Saturdays of 26th November and 3rd December 2022.

These workshops will feature a selection of engaging activities to help shape the architectural plans and drawings for the Beckton Parks Masterplan. East Architects will be showcasing ideas developed from the Beckton Parks Playbook, with space for local people to feedback with priorities, preferences and other suggestions.

Children are welcome and refreshments will be provided. As there will be limited spaces, we ask that attendees please sign up for the specific workshops via Eventbrite.

1. Saturday 26th November: 11:00 - 12:30 - which will be concentrating on AREA 1: the lake and the surrounding park
2. Saturday 26th November: 15:00 - 16:30 - which will be concentrating on AREA 4: the sports field and New Beckton Park
3. Saturday 3rd December: 11:00 - 12:30 - which will be concentrating on AREA 2: the woodlands and Beckton Corridor
4. Saturday 3rd December: 15:00 - 16:30 - which will be concentrating on AREA 3: King George V Park and the Newham City Farm Site

Drop-in sessions

During the first hour prior to these above workshop times, there will be an opportunity for local people to come and peruse and review the architectural drawings. and can ask questions to the Architects or Engagement assistants present. (this is also welcome to those who cannot access Co-Create and Eventbrite).

The aims of the Co-Design Workshops are as follows:

• To continue the involvement of local people in shaping the future of Beckton Parks, building on and refining the community’s suggestions and ideas from the Playbook.

• Present the work East have been doing - progressing your exciting ideas from the Masterplan into architectural drawings and early-stage designs.

• Provide the next step towards the completion of the designs of an exciting masterplan for Beckton Parks to be delivered by the council.

It is important to note, the workshops will be concentrating on designs and drawings of the space and will not be choosing which businesses will operate the future amenities and buildings across Beckton Parks.
