About this Event
CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) is a framework that aims to ensure that contractors working with the US Department of Defense (DoD) are meeting certain cybersecurity requirements. One of the key components of CMMC is the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Document marking is a critical step in protecting CUI. By properly marking documents containing CUI, organizations can ensure that the information is not inadvertently shared with unauthorized individuals or organizations. CUI markings should indicate the level of protection required for the information contained within the document.
Join us for a deep dive into National Archives and Records Administrations best practices!
In our session we will cover:
What is CUI? - Explain what Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) is and why it is important to protect it.
Compliance Requirements - We will discuss the relative controls and compliance with NIST 800-171 (CMMC L2)
Document Markings - Discuss the different types of document markings that are used to identify CUI and how to properly apply them. We will be showing how Azure Information Protection and Adobe can be leveraged together.
Handling Procedures - Describe the procedures that should be followed when handling documents containing CUI, including how to properly store, transmit, and dispose of CUI documents.
E-mail Markings - We will cover how to also apply the correct markings and controls to your email communications.
