🏔️ CMC AGM + Club Night – Backcountry Trust PresentationJoin us for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by a club night presentation — an important evening for the club and a great chance to get involved.
The AGM is where we reflect on the past year and look ahead, including appointing members to the committee. If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved in CMC, this is the perfect time — there are a range of ways to contribute across the club.
After the AGM, we’ll hear from Ollie Clifton about the work of the Backcountry Trust.
Since 2014, the Backcountry Trust has restored and rebuilt over 300 huts and maintained more than 1000km of tracks across Aotearoa, working alongside organisations like New Zealand Alpine Club, New Zealand Deerstalkers Association, and others — as well as clubs like CMC. Their work relies heavily on volunteers and plays a huge role in keeping our backcountry accessible.
Closer to home, CMC has recently partnered with BCT to refurbish the Lockwood Shelter at Temple Basin in Arthur's Pass National Park — a great example of the impact this work has locally.
