Card Merchant is excited to be part of the 2026 Catan Organized Play program here in New Zealand, providing an opportunity for players from all over the country to get involved, learn, and enjoy the game in a structured event setting.These Catan Settlement Events are designed as an accessible entry point into organized play, giving players a chance to experience tournament-style games ahead of more competitive events later in the year.

Dates: 13th June 2026
Time: 11:00 AM
Entry Fee: $20
Event Structure:
Players will engage in multiple rounds to determine overall standings for the event.
Preliminary Round:
Each participant will play three separate games of base set Catan.
Opponents will rotate for each game.
At the conclusion of the preliminary round, players will be ranked based on their overall performance across all games.
Final Rounds:
Depending on player numbers, top-performing players may be split into final tables to determine overall placings.
If player numbers are lower, the event may instead consist solely of multiple Swiss-style rounds, with final standings determined by total points or wins.
This event is designed to balance structure with accessibility, giving players a clear tournament experience while keeping the environment welcoming and easy to engage with.
