Creative Clunes is thrilled to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Clunes Booktown Festival on 21-22 March 2026.If you are a book lover, family or day-tripper looking for a unique regional experience, save the date for the return of Australia’s most beloved book festival.
For two days, the historic main street of our beautiful township will transform, once again, into a spectacular book bazaar. Over one hundred and thirty specialist book traders will offer an extraordinary range – new and second- hand, antiquarian, and contemporary, rare and popular - covering every imaginable topic and theme.
Our 20th anniversary program has been released, and we cannot wait to welcome you into the world into Clunes. A wonderful weekend awaits of book browsing and buying, author talks, poetry slams, writing workshops, live music and great food.
Clunes is about thirty minutes north of Ballarat and a shade under two hours from Melbourne by car or comfortable train ride. It is the perfect site from which to explore Dja Dja Wurrung country and the goldfields.
