Club Matinée [Brooklyn]

We're running it back at Café Balearica for our first official Club Matinee, the deep disco dancing club music series from Matinee Social Club.

It's a Matinée event, so you can expect to have a wild night that ends at 10pm surrounded by a beautiful crowd of seasoned aka Millennial(ish) party people. Here's our Reel from the last Brooklyn event.

For those that have been to a Matinee before, a few differences to note...

Our "Matinee Disco" collaboration with Joyface is still going strong, but for "Club Matinee" we're going across the river to Brooklyn at Café Balearica. For those who haven't been, it's an immaculate 2-story disco on the corner of N11 & Berry. Upstairs is a light & plant-laden lounge, while the basement is a deep disco. Check it out on IG.

"Club Matinee" is Matinee's housier, electronic dance event, but not like burner or Bushwick electronic.

It's the soundtrack of a 30 something that spent their 20s in Brooklyn and has been to a few festivals.

Think like Purple Disco Machine meets Armand Van Helden meets Crystal Waters meets Disclosure, but also with nostalgic remixes, mashups, some 2010's festival hits, and probably some latin/afro house that we picked up while living in Tulum.

For those that have been to our Joyface collaboration, it'll have a similar groovy/joyous feel, but make it Brooklyn.

With Matinée, you can have both.
It’s a “night time” dance party that lets you have a wild night out…and be home by 11pm.

The party starts at 5pm, peaks at 8, over at 10. Oh and we serve pizza around 7pm to give you a second wind.

Hosted by a few of NYC’s funkiest disco & house DJs, Matinée has been selling out one of New York’s most beloved discos with sets that past Matineers have called “an undeniable feel good sound” and “the best night of my life”.

Nightlife pretty much only caters to 20 somethings. Matinée wants to change that.

We’re working to create a space where our fellow Millennials and beyond can step away from adult responsibilities and let loose for a while – creating memories with old friends and hopefully make some new ones.
