Main Act Formatia 127 brings together an melange of balkan and Eastern flavors, melded into electronic sounds and clinical rhythms, retro or modern, fast and slow. Formatia 127 consist of clarinetist Lars Ydgren and producer/ musician and David Giese (aka Joxaren), based in Skärholmen/ Sweden. The duo was founded when arranging the monthly Balkan-/elektro club “Sintetizator” in Hornstull 2018. During the pandemic they recorded an album with guest musicians Graham Mushnik from Derya Yıldırıms band and “The dark prince of Bucharest underground”, Manele-artist Matteo Islandezu, who mixed and produced the record. The album was awarded Best Album of the year by The Wire 2022.
David Giese has been an active musician since the end of the 80s, with projects in punk, dub, industrial, club, folk and hiphop. Since 2007 under his alias Joxaren, he has fociusedon dance floor oriented versions of contemporary romanian, albanian and bulgarian music, with performances and recordings in Tirana, Bukarest and around Europe. In 2021 he released an EP with legendary jamaican jamaican singjay-artist Eek-A-Mouse, and 2022 he composed two tracks influenced by Swedish folk music on the Manifest Prize winning compilation “Dans på svenska”.
Lars Ydgren has meen an active musician for three decades playing flute, clarinet and saxophone. He has performed
many times in Serbia and Makedonia at festivals and with local artists. In Balkan Trubači with Superstar Orkestar and the klezmer group Den Flygande Bokrullen.

Greek-Swedish-Cypriot upporting act Meteora plays live rebetika (underground Greek music from the 1920s and
onwards) and consists of Thomai Gkantiraga (guitar & vocals), Anna Gavanas (baglamas & vocals) and Peter Gavanas
(bouzouki), with oud player Andreas Krambias (oud). From upbeat tsifteteli to deep grooves inspired by the mountains of
Meteora and the streets of Exarcheia/ Athens.

Oceanen) and keeps building networks and collaborations between people with roots/ backgrounds in the Balkans and
the Eastern Mediterranean.
