A family-friendly trail of 2.5-miles, easy-paced walking from Clowbridge Reservoir to end 2025 on a high. This walk will take us over moorland, and through the ruined hamlet of Gambleside with scenic views to the reservoir and neighbouring Hameldon Hill. Time will be built in to explore, climb, observe wildlife, take in the views, or simply relax. Paths are a mix of well maintained and some less so, with some elevation and a couple of narrow gates on this route. Great for children who love to explore, and are sturdy on their feet. Well behaved, friendly dogs are welcome on this one too.
Our *Quail Trails walks are designed to be a step up from our Snail Trails. These are a little bit longer and aimed at children aged 4-11 and their families. Although it is a child-centred event, individual adults are also welcome to join us!
This walk will be led by Qualified Lowland Leader and English Teacher, Rachel. She is likely to add a little drama / make believe / story telling to the route in a very playful way!
Tickets cost: £10 for a family of up to 4 people; £7 for two people booking together (adult and child combo); and £4 for an individual or extra person.
👀Keep an eye on our website: www.abigailstrails.co.uk/family-trails for more dates being added for 2025!
*Quails are small ground-nesting bids, which inhabit grasslands, preferring areas of tall vegetation. Quails are more often heard than seen, with repeating chirps (sounds like children playing outside to me!).
