I'm organising another walk in Towneley Park in Burnley. With ample parking (£2 for a whole day), it will be a gentle walk, with a small incline for an optional walk through the wood above Towneley Hall, of approximately 2.5 miles and is an easy walk for those who might find other walks a bit too challenging, and is an opportunity for our furbabies and us to meet and socialise. There are plenty of picnic benches and if the weather is nice, we could have a picnic and feed the ducks! There is a garden centre next door which is also dog-friendly and may be worth a visit if you need any garden essentials before going back home. Also worth a visit is the Towneley Hall itself, but they don't allow dogs in there unfortunately.
There are a number of car parks at the park, but the best car park is the Waterside Car Park and that is the car park where we are all meeting. It is accessed from the Todmorden Road entrance - simply follow the road and take the left-hand fork with the car park about 100 yards on the right. For people with sat nav systems, the location is as follows:
1 Deer Park Rd, Burnley BB11 3RQ

Sprocket, Tony and I will be arriving at 10am with the intention of doing a 10.30 am start. We will be at The Rotunda and I'll be wearing a yellow vest. Sprocket will have his orange harness on. The Rotunda in in the car park just as you're about to enter the park itself and it is there that you will find the toilets (which are clean and easily accessible) and a snack bar if you fancy a coffee and snack before the walk.
We anticipate that the walk will take from 1.5 to 2 hours with stops along the way to rest as needed. At the end of the walk, there is a snack stop for coffee before we go home
