About this Event
The cloth tiger (布老虎) is a traditional Chinese handmade toy, often made of colorful fabrics and embroidery. It symbolizes protection, strength, and good luck, especially for children. During Dragon Boat Festival (端午节), cloth tigers are commonly made and given to children to ward off evil spirits, prevent illness, and bring health and safety.
Making a cloth tiger involves a variety of embroidery techniques, requiring careful attention to detail and time. For this reason, the workshop is divided into two afternoon sessions. It is possible that you may need to finish your cloth tiger at home if you don’t complete it during the workshop.
