About this Event
Closing the Device Divide: WNC
Did you know that WNC has a device access gap of over 50,000 devices (not including devices lost to Hurricane Helene). In many cases a device is the access someone may need to connect to finish their education, get a new job, or find resources that improve their lives. It's one of the smallest investments we can make in someone's future.
Join us in person for an exciting event all about bridging the device divide in Western North Carolina! Connect with local innovators, share ideas, and explore solutions to ensure everyone has access to the technology they need. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or community advocate, come be part of the conversation and help make a difference! If you are a technology asset manager in anyway we would love to have you to learn more about refurbishment needs in our region.
We will be joined by national device divide expert Karisa Tashjian from Digitunity for a presentation on her research in North Carolina's device ecosystem.
Panels with statewide and regional experts that use their work in devices to close the digital divide such as:
Yvette Brooks- Though the Trees (Device Refurbisher in Brevard, NC)
Sara Nichols- WestNGN program manager (Device Refubisher in Asheville, NC)
Christy Cowan- E2D (Device Refurbishment in Charlotte, NC)
Ashley Smith- E2D (Device Refurbishment in Charlotte, NC)
Crystal MacKinnon- The Connectivity Project (Device Refurbishment Asheville, NC)
Agenda is evolving- so stay tuned
