The clinical skills series is for health care professionals, Heath Care Assistants & Support Workers. The education sessions provide learning which maintains and enhances participants palliative care knowledge, skills and practice.
The aim of this presentation is to:
- Review skin pathophysiology of the skin and pressure injuries.
- Discuss the risk factors and causes for development of pressure injuries.
- Recognise the signs & symptoms of pressure injuries.
- Discuss the classification of pressure injuries.
- Understand the palliative care approach to pressure injuries.
- Briefly identify the complications that can result from pressure injury
