The workshop aims to provide education that will refresh or upskill health care professionals supporting persons with palliative care needs.
About this Event

The clinical skills series is for health care professionals, Heath Care Assistants & Support Workers. The education sessions provide learning which maintains and enhances participants palliative care knowledge, skills and practice.

The aim of this presentation is to:

  • Review skin pathophysiology of the skin and pressure injuries.
  • Discuss the risk factors and causes for development of pressure injuries.
  • Recognise the signs & symptoms of pressure injuries.
  • Discuss the classification of pressure injuries.
  • Understand the palliative care approach to pressure injuries.
  • Briefly identify the complications that can result from pressure injury
