A one day, fully catered, interprofessional short course focused on Clinical Ethics in Deceased Donation
About this Event

Deakin University’s School of Medicine is offering a one day training course focusing on Clinical Ethics in Deceased Donation.

The course has been designed by Deakin Bioethics in collaboration with clinicians involved in deceased donation of organs and tissues. Participants will explore the fundamental principles guiding deceased donation as well as recent developments and debates in the field. The focus will be on ethical issues relating to decision-making about deceased donation and clinical interventions in the setting of deceased donation. An optional second day focused on ethical issues in organ transplantation will precede this course on April 28th.

Providing a practical introduction to ethical decision-making, the course will facilitate learning through the use of case studies and interprofessional small group discussions. For information about the faculty involved in the course including local and international speakers, panelists, and facilitators, and the program, please stay tuned. Please note the flyer will be updated as more faculty are confirmed and program details finalised.

The course will be held at Deakin's beautiful corporate campus, "Deakin Downtown", 727 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.

Tickets are inclusive of course materials and refreshments (coffee, morning & afternoon tea, lunch).

All attendees will receive a certificate of completion, identifying the number of CPD hours for the course.
