Ready to level up your race performance? This 90-minute Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Race Clinic is designed to sharpen your skills, strengthen your strategy, and build the confidence you need from the starting line to the finish buoy.
We’ll begin with beach start techniques, breaking down how to position your board, time the horn, power through the surf, and transition smoothly from sprint to sustainable race pace. Learn how to gain those crucial first strokes that can set the tone for your entire race.
Next, we’ll focus on race-day mindset and focus — how to stay calm in the chaos, manage nerves, hold your line, and make smart decisions on the water. We’ll cover drafting strategy, buoy turns, and maintaining mental toughness when fatigue sets in.
As we move toward the end of the session, we’ll dial in your finishing strategy — when to surge, how to empty the tank with intention, and how to execute a strong, confident finish that reflects your training and grit.
We’ll also discuss race nutrition and hydration, including what to eat before you paddle, how to fuel for different race distances, and how to avoid common mistakes that impact performance.
To wrap it up, we’ll guide you through a post-race evaluation framework — what to reflect on, how to identify areas for improvement, and how to turn every race into valuable feedback for your next start line.
