Six years left to reach our NYS Climate Act mandate, learn why we must double our efforts & the policies to implement now to get us there!
About this Event

New York's Climate Law requires we reach 70% renewable energy by 2030, we always knew this would be a difficult but doable task. With six years remaining, hear from experts on why we must double down on reaching this mandate, and the policies we need to implement to get us there. We will focus on successes and lessons learned over the last four years and lay out specific ways the public can support these policies. The time to commit ourselves to reaching 70% renewable energy production in New York by 2030 is now.
In our three-part program, we will begin with a keynote presentation on the efforts being made by our elected officials and the renewable energy industry to keep 70% by 2030 within reach, followed by presentations focusing on how distributed energy (residential and community solar and battery storage) will play an important part in our transition. Our main panel discussion will focus on why meeting this mandate should be a top priority in New York, focusing on environmental justice and the economic and health benefits of our renewable transition. At the end of the program, a light lunch will be served
