Climate Fresk – Junior Workshop (English)

🌍 Let’s learn about climate change together!

Join us at Oodi Library for the Junior Climate Fresk, a fun, hands-on, and creative workshop designed to teach kids about climate change in an engaging way!

This interactive experience is based on trusted data from the IPCC report and helps young participants understand the causes and effects of climate change. Together, we can empower kids to think critically and take positive actions for the planet!

Who is this workshop for?

🧒 Ages: 10–14 years old

This Junior Climate Fresk workshop is tailored for younger participants. If you’re a parent, or have kids age 15+, you can join the adult Climate Fresk workshop happening at the same time at Oodi!

Note: While Climate Fresk workshops are also available in Finnish, this particular event will be conducted in English.

What will kids do in the workshop?

During the 2-hour team will:

• Collaborate to arrange 21 cards and uncover the cause-effect relationships of climate change
• Use teamwork and collective intelligence to build their understanding, one card at a time
• Explore ideas in a relaxed, encouraging environment with the help of two certified Climate Fresk facilitators, Emma and Janina

The workshop flow

• Introduction – Meet the group, get to know each other, and learn about the history of Climate Fresk
• Build the Fresk – Work as a team to connect the cards and reveal the big picture, with guidance from the facilitators
• Creativity break – Add your own creative touches and finalize the fresk
• Summary – Recap the key lessons from the workshop
• Debrief & solutions – Share thoughts, feelings, and ideas for personal and collective actions.
