About this Event
Are you worried or concerned about climate change? Does the climate crisis make you anxious? Want to take local climate action but don’t know how or where? Join our Climate Cafe at the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) to discuss everything related to the climate crisis (including how it makes you feel).
Why This Matters
Climate change isn’t just transforming our planet—it’s shaping how we think, feel, and show up in the world. Approximately 40% of adults worldwide report experiencing climate-related anxiety or stress, with higher rates among younger generations (60% in ages 16–25) (GlobeScan 2025, Lancet Planetary Health). In the midst of escalating disasters and uncertainty, we urgently need spaces to navigate our climate emotions and translate them into action. This is not just about information. It’s about transformation. It’s about building the emotional resilience needed to face these challenges while staying grounded, hopeful, and engaged. There is a powerful connection between individual wellbeing and collective action. When you stabilize your emotional state, you stabilize your capacity to act.
What to Expect
Whether you're a concerned citizen, an activist, or just curious about the topic, this community-organized space is for you.
