The real source of happiness is inner peace. If our mind is peaceful, we will be happy all the time, regardless of external conditions, but if it is disturbed or troubled in any way, we will never be happy, no matter how good our external conditions may be.
On this relaxed day retreat learn two guided meditations that can be practised by anyone. With regular practice, these meditations help us to experience mental clarity and inner peace by meditating on our mind itself. Through training in concentration observing our mind we can overcome distractions and come to experience for ourself the inner peace arising from the clarity of the mind.
Join us in person at Kadampa Meditation Centre Nottingham, Gedling House – the perfect way to experience the benefits of meditation on Sunday 18th January from 10:00 am – 3 pm.
A wonderful opportunity to relax in a beautiful, peaceful environment, discuss questions and enjoy refreshments between sessions.
The retreat will be led by our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Gakyi.
The day will comprise of four 45 minute sessions, including a short prayer, brief commentary and guided meditations.
Timetable: 45 minute sessions starting 10am, 11.15, 1.00 and 2.15. Lunch and refreshments available.
This event is suitable for everyone, beginners welcome.
