About this Event
Join Us for Clayton Conversation: The Fortnightly Club!
In honor of Women’s History Month, we are celebrating the incredible women of Fort Smith, Arkansas, who worked tirelessly to enrich their community by establishing a public library. Over the course of many years, they drafted proposals, rallied support, and pushed for change. Their dedication eventually led to the creation of what became the largest public library of its time. All of this happened during an era when women did not yet have the right to vote, which makes their achievement even more remarkable.
