In honor of Earth Day, we return to one of the oldest human ideas: that the Earth is not just a place, but a mother. Across cultures and centuries, people have told stories of a mother goddess—the source of life, growth, and return. We still carry that idea in our language, even in the words alma mater.
Join us for another CLAYconnections evening with Dr. Jaime Claymore as we follow this thread through story, language, and a bit of science, and consider why it has endured time.
Then, inspired by these themes of growth and return, you’ll create your own clay planter using pressed floral stamps. Seeds will be provided, so your finished planter can become a mother for new life.
This is Part 2 of Clay + Code’s new CLAYconnections series, featuring the work of Tara Joshi, ceramicist and owner, alongside Dr. Jaime Claymore, classicist and educator. Bringing the community together one connection at a time! Don’t miss this one!
No experience necessary. Clay project ready in 2 weeks.
