Clay Class at The Pottery Shop: Berry Bowl

This class is perfect for beginners and will have you getting your hands dirty as you create something by hand 💘 We’ll learn basic pinching and coiling techniques to make this sweet stoneware berry bowl, crafted by hand from start to finish.

Photographs represent the techniques demonstrated in class and are illustrative only—your piece will be uniquely yours. We provide all the tools, materials, and instruction to get you rolling!

Please note: this is a handbuilding session, not wheel throwing. Ceramics is an unpredictable medium, and undesirable outcomes may include cracks, warping, separation at joins, or breakage in the kiln. By participating, you understand we cannot guarantee results.

$40 per person. ($10 deposit per person required to hold your spot; balance due in studio on the day of the event).

This is a one-part experience. During your visit, you’ll create your piece by hand and choose your glaze color.

Once your piece dries, we’ll fire it in the kiln, then apply your chosen glaze before it’s ready to take home and show off your handmade masterpiece (approx 4-6 weeks turn around).

Suggested for ages 14 and up.
Children ages 12+ may attend but may require adult assistance due to the manual strength needed to manipulate the clay. (Ages 14 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult—this is not a drop-off event; spectators not permitted)

⏳ The class is approximately 1–1.25 hours long

• No open-toed shoes
• Fingernails will get dirty and may break
• Wear comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty
• No loose jewelry or items hanging in any way
• No rings
• Long hair should be tied back
