About this Event
Weekly Meeting: Tuesday, 5pm-7pm
Claw-tent Creators club will integrate the technology of our modern world into a means of supporting our animals by utilizing different forms of media to teach youth ages 13-16 how to advocate for all animals. This weekly club will introduce youth to different themes surrounding digital literacy, internet safety and how to create a meaningful change for our animal population through social media! With human and animal guests, we will work together to develop new animal advocates in our tech connected lives.
Our Claw-tent Creators club attendees will…
- Develop an understanding of digital literacy and how online tools can be used to advocate for animal welfare
- Strengthen awareness of internet safety and responsible online engagement when creating animal‑focused content
- Learn how media can influence public attitudes and inspire positive action for animals
- Collaborate with peers, staff, and both human and animal guest visitors to create meaningful advocacy projects
- Gain hands‑on experience producing ethical, impactful animal‑related digital content
- Build confidence in using technology as a tool for education, compassion, and community involvement
- Explore how youth voices can make a real‑world difference for animals through modern communication channels
- Develop the skills needed to become thoughtful, informed animal advocates in a digitally connected world
- Build Empathy for all living things and work towards inspiring empathy in others as well!

This is an interactive, hands‑on learning experience! Each week, youth will take part in age‑appropriate tasks that support the shelter, including group activities, small projects, and meaningful contributions to the care and enrichment of our animals and their spaces. Before enrolling, we encourage families to talk with their youth to ensure the youth is interested in participating in the program.
We will be using mixed forms of media, which means that there will be some opportunity for your youth to use their own devices. We understand that many youth feel more comfortable keeping their phones on them to stay connected with friends and family, and we think that’s very important. However, phones must be kept in their pocket unless otherwise instructed, as they can become a distraction and hinder our Club Leaders’ ability to teach. Please ensure your child understands this expectation. We appreciate your support.
We want every participant to feel welcome, engaged, and empowered. Together, we’ll build new skills, help animals in need, and make a positive impact. We can't wait to learn and grow with you!
