About this Event
Italian Wine Scholar, WSET L 3, Certified Specialist of Wine & Certified Wine Educator, Mike Ward, guides us through the wines of France and Italy during this interactive seated tasting!
This France vs. Italy wine class offers a sensory showdown, exploring French precision and structure against Italian warmth and rustic charm, tasting iconic regional wines (like Bordeaux vs. Super Tuscan, Burgundy vs Amarone) to uncover differences in terroir, indigenous grapes, and winemaking philosophies, helping you decide if you prefer mineral clarity or velvety texture in your glass!
In this class we'll dig in deeper on what differentiates France from Italy, it's history and traditions and what that means to the wines produced in these two countries. We'll discuss the well known regions of each country, the laws and restrictions in wine production and how tradition and people work within those guidelines to make the best possible wine they can.
Wines featured during the class will be available for purchase that evening at a special discounted price for attendees.
