Drawing on the tragic story of Charlie Parker, the movie documents the last days of Richie “Eagle” Stokes, a brilliant yet addicted and aimless saxophonist. Down-and-out professor Don Murray befriends Eagle in this tragic, reflective story, which features affecting performances. Max Waldron arranged the film’s jazzy score with Chick Corea.
