Step into the mesmerizing world of indigo with an organic dye vat prepared by instructor Sydni Gause.In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the art of Shibori, a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique, as you fold, tie, and bundle your own 21x21 cotton bandana into unique patterns. Once your fabric is prepared, you’ll immerse it in a rich indigo vat and watch the magic unfold as the cloth transforms from white to vibrant shades of blue before your eyes.
Participants will have the opportunity to dip their bandanas multiple times to build deeper, more dramatic hues while learning about the fascinating process and chemistry behind maintaining an organic indigo vat. No two creations will be alike!
