Melbourne International Comedy Festival's national comedy competition and workshop program for unearthing young talent returns!
Class Clowns is back to inspire, connect, and elevate teenagers aged 14-18 who have a knack for comedy. Taking place during Term 1 of the school year, this exciting competition is not only free but also loads of fun.
All you need is 3-5 minutes of original comedy material in any genre: stand-up, sketch, narrative, solo, group, musical, or physical – the options are limitless! The competition heats feature a 2-hour workshop where participants develop and perfect their acts with the guidance of a professional comedian. Following the workshop participants perform live for an audience!
The funniest entrants will win a trip to Melbourne and progress to the National Grand Final during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival! The Grand Final winner will take home an impressive $1,500 cash prize and a fantastic workshop package for their school.
