Join us as we welcome Claire Carroll and Yan Ge, in conversation with Tom Conaghan, to celebrate two exceptional examples of short story craft: Claire's debut collection, The Unreliable Nature Writer, and Yan's English-language debut, Elsewhere.
Claire Carroll lives in Somerset and writes experimental fiction about the intersection of nature, technology, and desire. Her short stories and poetry have been published by journals including Gutter Magazine, perverse, Lunate Journal, The Oxonian Review, and Short Fiction Journal, as well as shortlisted for The White Review’s Short Story Prize.Yan Ge was born in Sichuan, China in 1984. She is a fiction writer in both Chinese and English who has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Mao Dun Literature Prize (Best Young Writer), and was named by People's Literature magazine as one of the twenty future literature masters in China. Her work has been translated into English, French and German, among other languages. She has an MFA in creative writing from the University of East Anglia where she was the recipient of the UEA International Award 2019/19. She lives in Norwich.
