SAVE THE DATE!! Event begins at 3:00 and will end at 7:00.Oakdale Historical Society is proud to host the 7th Annual Civil War Christmas at St. John's Landmark Church (circa 1765). At this event, costumed re-enactors set up camp at our churchyard to enjoy some holiday cheer (courtesy Co. K of 67th NY Infantry), the BAFFA Victorian Carolers delight us with period appropriate caroling and leads us in the Tree Lighting, OBMS Show Choir performs in St. John's Church, St. Nicholas makes an appearance for wee ones as we decorate the church in our traditional "Hanging of the Greens" to the festive singing of the Idle Hour Elementary School Chorus. We will also have a Victorian Baking Competition sponsored by the Town of Islip Historian's Office. Step back in time with us for an authentic experience culminating in an authentic Civil War Christmas Service. To share the holiday, please bring a non-perishable food item with you to donate.
