Join us at the Civil Air Patrol Squadron 101 Cadet Open House!
This is a great chance to find out what our cadet program is all about! We will be introducing youth and parents to the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program — a program open to youths ages 12 to 18 and dedicated to leadership development, aerospace education, physical fitness, character growth, and volunteer service. Guests will meet our current cadets and senior members, take a facility tour, and learn what it means to join as a new cadet.
? Start of the Next Great Start Cadet Cohort
This Open House also marks the beginning of our next Great Start training group — an 8-week introductory program that helps new cadets learn the basics of cadet life in a structured, supportive, and fun environment. During Great Start, cadets will:
- Learn drill and ceremonies
- Begin fitness training at their own pace
- Explore aerospace and STEM activities
- Learn how ranks and promotions work
- Build teamwork and confidence alongside fellow new cadets
The program is led by our trained Cadet Cadre (youth leaders) and supervised by adult members. It is designed to help new cadets feel welcomed, prepared, and successful from their very first steps.
If your child is considering joining, January 6th is the ideal night to attend, as this is the official start of the next training cycle.

Our Squadron Headquarters are located on the west side of big hangar at Santa Maria airport at 3203 Lightning St, Santa Maria, CA 93455. The building is within the secure area of the Santa Maria airport, so you must enter through the access gate at 3123 Liberator Street to get to the building.
