In this special performance for the Boulder Library’s Civic Dialogue series, transgender and nonbinary leaders perform artfully crafted personal stories about their hopes, dreams, and experiences of negotiating oppression and liberation, with live musical underscore. Colorado’s most diverse improv troupe, Motus Playback Theater, will then support the audience to reflect together on gender and reenact reflections on the spot.
Regardless of your ideas about legislation focused on transgender & nonbinary people, come together for tea, cookies and community to hear stories from your transgender & nonbinary neighbors so we all know more about the people impacted by legislation. Featuring music from acclaimed violinist Anthony Salvo (he/him).
Reception starts at 6:30p.m. Performance starts at 7p.m. Registration recommended for email reminders and to hold a seat until 6:50pm. Walk-ins welcome, seating is limited. After 6:45p.m. entry only through the Canyon entrance (north side).
The Boulder Public Library invites all community members to rediscover the history and importance of voting in our country through our fall Democracy Series and ongoing Civic Dialogue programs. From interactive storytimes to insightful workshops, this engaging series will foster community connections as we navigate this election year together.
