City Splash is THE immersive Charles River experience of the year! Join the Charles River Conservancy's movement to reclaim urban river swimming in the Charles River.

This summer marks the 7th annual City Splash event, with over 1,300 people experiencing the joy of swimming the Charles River to date. Register for a swim slot today!

Date: Saturday, July 13, 2024

Time: 12pm - 4pm

Location: Fiedler Dock on DCR's Charles River Esplanade

For safety reasons, it is essential that you provide the actual, real name of each swimmer on each individual ticket. Please do NOT use the "copy data from other attendee" option. If you do not have the names of all attendees at the time of registration, we kindly ask that you wait until you have this information before completing your order. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

1. This swim takes place in deep water. Participants must be comfortable swimming and treading in deep water and be able to climb in and out of the water via a dock ladder.

2. Swimming is only allowed for registered participants during their pre-registered 25-minute swim slot. Due to demand, swimmers may only register for one swim slot.

3. All participants must be 12 years old or older; those under 18 will be required to pass a swim test and be accompanied by a guardian.

4. All external flotation devices, including lifejackets, tubes, and pool noodles, are prohibited.

5. The Charles River is turbid and visibility within the water is limited. There may be hidden hazards; swimmers are advised to stay on the surface of the water.

6. Lifeguards will be on duty during the event. Please respect all staff, lifeguards, and volunteers as they help to facilitate a fun and safe event. Lifeguards will ask swimmers to leave at their discretion.

7. Changing tents and a bag check will be provided.

8. The rain date for this event is set for Saturday, July 20, 2024. In the event of postponement, the event will be moved to July 20th and participants registered for July 13th will have their registration transferred to July 20th for the same time slot.

9. Access to the dock and swim area will be strictly limited to registered and signed-in swimmers during their time slot; participants must follow dock checkpoint procedures.

10. Accessibility and accommodations: Please be aware there is no designated event parking. Please contact Taylor Leonard at [email protected] if we can provide support that allows you to fully participate in this event. Animals are not allowed generally. Service animals are welcome.

11. Event updates and other rules for the event will be distributed to participants via email before the event. To ensure you receive important updates, please provide an email address that you check regularly.
