SD Citizens for Liberty are hosting a forum for candidates running for City Council in Rapid City. This will be a moderated discussion with the candidates and an opportunity for Q & A.Canyon Lake Activity Center

Per our bylaws, we do not endorse candidates, but we believe it is vital for the public to get to know them beyond what they say about themselves in campaign literature. Candidates are free to bring campaign materials to the Forum. This is NOT a debate.
Format:
Moderated by emcee
- Candidate allowed 2min. Introductions, and 2 min. closing remarks.
- All candidates respond to all questions.
- SDCFL asks first question.
- Attendees ask questions at center aisle standing microphone.
- questions and responses will be timed to avoid speeches and filibusters.
Emcee will (1) determine if a topic has been exhausted, or asked and answered, (2) disallow rude, accusatory, or inappropriate questions/statements (3) keep answers on track. (4) determine if rebuttal is warranted.
This will be an advertised event. All six candidates in contested races have confirmed as well as the Ward 2 uncontested candidate. Uncontested candidates will be given time to introduce themselves and make a statement but will not participate in the forum.
