About this Event
The City and Guilds Introduction to Trainer Skills course equips individuals to plan, deliver and evaluate effective training by communication, engagement and assessment. It is perfect for both new trainers or those adding skills.
The programme builds confidence and practical techinques using interactive methods with the key objective to develop foundational skills to be an effective trainer.
Course programme to include:
- Planning and setting up training sessions
- Learning Styles and delivery
- Stetting ground rules
- Using icebreakers
- Using a variety of training methods and resources
- Gaining and maintaining attention
- Checking understanding and learning
- Evaluation and reflection on practice
Course to be delivered over 2 consequetive days at University and Professional Development Centre, West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds on the following dates:
Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 Apri 2026
The qualification is assessed by completion of a multiple-choice quiz and delivery of a 15 minute micro-teach.

Please note we run all our courses based on a minimum number of participants.
In the event of cancellation by the client not less than 10 working days before the course, the client will be entitled to a refund of 80% of the course fee (20% will be deducted for administration costs). A cancellation within 10 days of commencement will result in no refund to the client
