About this Event
Join us for our February weekend workshop, where our orchard manager and garden educator, capri kasai, will be teaching folks how to care for citrus trees (Washington navel oranges to be precise)!
Our morning will entail a lesson on tree anatomy and physiology, harvesting of compost, feeding the oranges (compost and fertilizer), and pruning (if time permits). Phew!
You will see firsthand what it takes to keep our orange grove healthy, so that they consistently produce the very oranges that make our delicious marmalade.
700+ lbs of oranges we dropped off at E. Waldo Ward the first week of January 2026!
The care we provide for the trees now is providing the necessary boost so that we can have another huge harvest come winter!
Please wear closed toed shoes, long sleeved shirts (citrus have pesky thorns), a hat, water, and any snacks to keep you energized and sated.
See you in the garden!
