Celebrate Earth Day by helping scientists monitor wildlife! In this hands-on event, we will virtually connect with participants around the country AND the scientists behind the NASA-supported research project Snapshot Wisconsin. After hearing from the research team, participants will log in to explore trail camera photos and help classify the animals you see. Our contributions help track changes in wildlife distributions and abundances over time—critical data that informs wildlife management and conservation decisions. We will also be able to ask questions and receive real-time answers from the team behind this research.
No experience or special equipment is required. All you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone with Wi-Fi and curiosity! Recommended for ages 13+ and families. A limited number of laptops will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring a Wi-Fi connected device from home.
This event is part of the Acts of Science: Connected signature series for Citizen Science Month 2026.
