Now is the time to consider getting a free heart check up. Did you know heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S.? Our providers at Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) want to see you before you have symptoms or a life-changing cardiac event.
CIS is hosting a free cardiovascular screening at CIS Meridian (4909 Great River Dr, Meridian, MS 39305) on Thursday, December 11th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Guests will receive a complimentary Electrocardiogram (EKG) and Blood Pressure screenings. An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages, the thickness of the heart wall, past heart attacks and more. Results will be reviewed on site.
Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.
