UVOD U VERTIKALNI PLES, radionica
Voditeljica: Danka Sekulović
Vertikalni ples karakterizira spoj plesa i penjanja.
Sudionici će potom učiti osnove kretanja i plesa na zidu, uz elemente skakanja i istraživanja pokreta u vertikalnom prostoru, a radionica završava kratkim opuštanjem i istezanjem.

INTRODUCTION TO VERTICAL DANCE, workshop
Led by: Danka Sekulović
Vertical dance is characterised by the fusion of dance and climbing. Using climbing equipment and ropes, dancers defy gravity while exploring new perspectives — both in relation to their own bodies and movement, and in their relationship with the audience. Whether performed indoors, outdoors, on walls, or on rock faces, vertical dance has been pushing the boundaries of the performing arts since the 1970s, opening up new ways of experiencing space, the body, and movement.
About the Workshop
The workshop begins with a warm-up and preparation of both body and mind through exercises designed to help participants release fear and build a shared group energy. This is followed by an introduction to the basics of safe equipment use and climbing to a self-selected height (minimum 2 metres). Participants will then learn the fundamentals of movement and dance on the wall, including elements of jumping and exploring movement in vertical space, before concluding with a short cool-down and stretching session.
All of this takes place in an intensive yet intimate format of two hours per day, with the group limited to only six participants.
The workshop lasts two days, with two-hour sessions each day, and is intended for participants with a beginner level of experience in vertical dance.
Participation fee: €40

About the Instructor
The workshop is led by Cirkusfera member Danka Sekulović, a long-time artist and educator within the organisation. Danka is one of the initiators of the educational programme Fabrika savremenog cirkusa (“Factory of Contemporary Circus”), which has been introducing young participants to the world of contemporary circus for the past nine years. She most frequently works as an instructor of partner acrobatics and aerial acrobatics, while in recent years she has also been actively developing her practice of vertical dance. She began leading vertical dance workshops last summer, and since then, both the interest and the number of participants have continued to grow steadily.
