About this Event
Calling all parents of 8 to 16 year old! Join us for a kids (ages 8 to 16 years old) edition clothing swap and sustainable styling session with the Feelgood Fashionista.
The Feelgood Fashionista, Loraine Martin has been dubbed Australia's OpShop Queen and featured in the Daily Mail, That's Life and Channel 9. A former fashion agent turned Eco Stylist uses preloved and circular fashion to nail sustainable style. She will share her sustainable styling tips to revamp your kids wardrobe.
is a collaborative project between the Town of East Fremantle, the City of Fremantle, and the City of Melville to help people reduce the impact of textile waste. The project involves a series of clothing swaps with a sustainable stylist, and workshops to upskill and educate participants.
The event
- 11.00 am - Guests arrive (with maximum 10 items of clothing), light morning tea provided
- 11.30 am - Sustainable styling talk by Loraine Martin
- 12.00pm - Short break
- 12.15pm - Clothes swap, with styling advice offered by Loraine
- 1.00pm - Event concludes

Event activities will start on time, but if you are running late, you may still join.

Requirements
Clothing items to bring per ticket holder:
- Up to 10 items of kids (ages 8 to 16 years old) clothing, accessories and shoes for kids in a bag labeled with your name on it.
- Items must be clean and have no damage.
- Please bring quality items, we would prefer no fast fashion unless of exceptional quality. We want people to be as excited by the items you bring, as what you will receive.
- Please no dirty, broken, sportswear, bathers or underwear.
- Items not fitting this description will be returned to you to take home.
Type of event and expectations
Adult learning space guests are requested to turn phones to silent, where possible, remain seated for the duration of the presentation part of the event. Please be respectful to facilitator, volunteers and attendees alike for the duration of the event. This event is aimed at parents with no specific activites for children. You are wleomce to bring your kids along for them to learn and to participate with you in the clothes swap.

Directions to centre
Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near the Centre and services multiple routes.
The Centre is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Bring the following items for recycling at Piney Lakes when you attend a workshop: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, writing instruments, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids and beer can clips.
