Circling: What is it?
Circling (also known as Transformational Connection) is a cutting-edge practice that functions like a "multiplayer meditation." It invites us to explore our present-moment experience while remaining attuned to those around us. The practice creates a rich space for meaningful encounters, often with moments of synchronicity, personal revelation, and even shifts in perception.
At its core, Circling explores a simple question: "What is it like to be you right now?" Unlike many forms of self-development, there’s no goal to fix or achieve anything. Instead, we are invited to notice how our inner state shifts moment to moment and authentically share our sensations, thoughts, feelings, and desires from a place of full self-responsibility (e.g., "There's a heaviness in my stomach" or "I feel warmth in my chest when I hear you say this").
The practice is highly diverse, blending elements of meditation, verbal sharing, embodied presence, and sometimes touch. It can be practiced in pairs, small groups, or full-group settings, each format offering its own unique experience.
Although not therapy, Circling can be deeply transformative. Participants often report feeling more present, alive, and deeply seen while uncovering habitual patterns and gaining meaningful relational, personal, and spiritual insights. The practice fosters self-awareness, authentic communication, mindfulness, and can open pathways for profound personal growth.
“Circling has helped me show up more authentically in my life and helped me lead with my heart more often in my relationships.”
What to Expect
Throughout the day, we will engage in a variety of small group and pair exercises, group meaning-making discussions, and expansive full-group practice sessions, all designed to help you explore what it's like to meet yourself and others sincerely, without any agenda.
We will practice:
- Exploring presence with words and in silence (with optional touch)
- Deepening awareness of emotions, thoughts, sensations, and awareness itself
- Sharing your present-moment experience with authenticity and compassion
- Moving with aliveness and trusting your experience
- A non-goal-oriented approach to connection — being with the other in their world
- Personal responsibility and "owning your experience"
- Welcoming a full range of experience, including challenging emotions like frustration, desire, and boredom
Is This Right for You?
This session is open to both newcomers and those experienced in Circling. However, please be aware that this practice can be intense, as it involves exploring a wide range of emotions, sensations, and beliefs, including those that may feel intense or challenging, such as inadequacy, anger, and sexuality. Engaging in this work requires courage and openness. You are always welcome to step back, ask for space, or opt out of any part of the practice that doesn't feel right for you. If you are facing significant emotional challenges or mental health concerns, or if you're unsure about your ability to self-manage your needs during the event, we advise you not to enrol. By registering, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service.
Who am I?
My fascination with the human mind began in my early teens, leading me to explore psychology, meditation, spirituality, and communication through various modalities. When I discovered Circling in 2019, I was immediately drawn to its blend of presence, authenticity, and aliveness. Over the past five years, I've immersed myself in the practice, becoming a certified facilitator through Circling Europe (now called Transformational Connection) and leading events for the past two years. Circling has empowered me with greater agency and courage in my relationships, unlocking ever-widening and more colorful expressions of self, while deepening my capacity for empathy and understanding toward others. I'm excited to share its transformative potential with you.
🫶 YOUR WORDS
“Circling events facilitated by Emilija have been deeply fulfilling journeys of self-discovery as well as playgrounds for discovering new and more genuine ways of expressing myself and being in connection with others. What I love most about Emi's way of facilitating is how she models vulnerability, courage, and transparency for me and helps me experience the beauty, joy, and heartbreak, and everything in-between, with gentle curiosity and with an open heart.”
"The session felt completely safe and a place where everyone could be open with each other”
“Emilija brings a sense of clarity and vulnerability with a healthy dose of play to the space, as well as clearly explaining and demonstrating practices such that it is easy to jump straight in (speaking as someone new to circling).”
