Greetings Circlers! It's so great to see the flowers, and even a few fruit blossoms peeking out - Spring is coming, and so is our next gathering!
UPDATE! For our March Circle, we'll be at the Arlene Francis Center, 99 6th Street, in Santa Rosa's Railroad Square.
As always, we'll be guided by David Worm in this 2-part offering to deepen in the art of making improvised music with the support of community.
🐦🌿 Heads up! 🌿🐦
As of February 26, the new location for our March circle is the Arlene Francis Center, a fun and funky collaborative space just off Railroad Square in Santa Rosa.
🎼🎶 For this session 🎼🎶
Last time we learned a bit about how a bass and rhythm section can transform your melody. This time, we will explore improvising over one of the most familiar and powerful song-forms in contemporary music - the 12-bar blues. Your homework between now and then is to go listen to some of your favorite blues artists, and come ready to lay down some grooves!
There will be lots of singing together, interspersed with individualized "workshopping" with David, as the moment calls.
And of course there's always room to just play, ESPECIALLY for the afternoon's open Circlesong gathering.
🧡🎶 Open to any experience/comfort level with singing
and/or improvised singing 🎶🧡
We meet every other month, on Second Saturdays.
⏰ Upcoming dates: ⏰
May 9, July 11, September 12, back outdoors at Ives Park!
All are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
Requested Contribution:
$20-30 either morning or afternoon,
or
$40-$50 for both sessions
(cash or venmo/paypal)
No one turned away for financial reasons!
We'll have a half-hour break partway through - good for snacking, lunch, walking, talking, fresh air, etc.
Email [email protected] to RSVP for the workshop (appreciated, not required), or to ask any questions.
