The Circle of Sisterhood is a project designed for immigrant & migrant women over the age of 18 who have moved to Canada and are interested in learning more about the gains and losses involved in the migration journey. Application required: https://bit.ly/4jjScEW
During each monthly circle you will be invited to explore a theme on migratory grief and to engage in reflection and sharing activities to promote mental health & wellbeing. The therapy circles will provide a safe space to share values of empowerment and resilience, diversity, community relationships, and an opportunity to honour the lands that nourish and support us.
Circle sessions will be co-facilitated by Katia Arias and several guests.
While these circle sessions are offered FREE (food and workshop materials are provided, and childcare funding is available), there is an estimated value of $100 per person. Participants must sign up in advance (https://bit.ly/4jjScEW) and there are limited seats available but we will create a waitlist if all seats are filled. We encourage you to attend the sessions you registered for and/or let the team know in advance if you will not be able to attend a session.
The Circle of Sisterhood is presented by the Local Council of Women, Latinas of Nova Scotia, and made possible by a generous grant from NSHPCA Healing Pathways.
