About this Event

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant possibility. It is an active, accelerating force — transforming how organisations operate, how governments make decisions, how institutions deliver value, and how professionals across every sector define their roles and responsibilities.

The question is no longer whether AI will change the world of work. The question is who will shape how that change unfolds — and whether Nigeria's institutions, professionals, and policymakers will be at the table when that conversation happens.

This June, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), in collaboration with the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management, University of Lagos, convenes the CIPM 3rd International Academic Conference — a premier platform where academia, industry, government, and civil society come together to engage the most consequential technology of our time with rigour, responsibility, and strategic intent.

About the Conference

The CIPM International Academic Conference is an annual gathering designed to bridge the gap between research and practice, between policy and implementation, and between institutional knowledge and real-world impact. Now in its third edition, the conference brings together some of the brightest minds across disciplines to examine, debate, and advance understanding of issues that matter most to the future of work.

This year's theme — Artificial Intelligence in Academia, Industry and Government: Navigating Ethics, Innovation and Impact — places at the centre of discourse the most urgent questions facing organisations and institutions today: How do we govern AI responsibly? How do we harness its potential without compromising human dignity, fairness, and institutional integrity? And how do we ensure that Africa — and Nigeria in particular — is not merely a consumer of AI-driven systems, but a contributor to the frameworks that govern them?
