Cinemateca, held at the Ruth Sokolof Theater, celebrates Latino, Latin American, and Spanish film while offering a rich cultural experience. Arrive before each screening to enjoy tasty appetizers from local Latino restaurant, Mexitli Restaurant starting at 5:30, then stay after the film for a lively discussion led by faculty from UNO’s Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS).
About the film
The arrival of Tomás gives new energy to his brother Sombra and his friend Santos, whose lives seem to be on hold after a student strike. Together, they decide to go on a road trip to find the legendary musician they listened to as kids, and whose location has been unknown for a long time.

El ciclo de Cinemateca, que se llevará a cabo en el Teatro Ruth Sokolof, es una celebración del cine latino, latinoamericano y español que ofrece una enriquecedora experiencia cultural. Te invitamos a llegar con anticipación a cada función a las 5:30 pm para disfrutar de deliciosos aperitivos, cortesía de Mexitli Restaurant, y a quedarte después de la película para participar en una animada conversación dirigida por profesores de la Oficina de Estudios Latinos y Latinoamericanos (OLLAS) de la Universidad de Nebraska en Omaha (UNO).
Sobre la película
La llegada de Tomás da nueva energía a su hermano Sombra y a su amigo Santos, cuyas vidas parecen haberse detenido tras una huelga estudiantil. Juntos deciden emprender un viaje por carretera para encontrar al legendario músico que escuchaban cuando eran niños y cuyo paradero ha sido un misterio desde hace mucho tiempo.
