Cinema Paradiso traces the friendship of a young boy and the aging projectionist of Cinema Paradiso, the movie theater in a small Sicilian town. It begins in the late 1940s, in the aftermath of World War II, and extends into the 1980s. The life stories of the boy, Salvatore, and projectionist, Alfredo, over the decades is the basis of one of the most beloved films of all time. No spoilers allowed, but don’t be surprised if the tears start flowing. Cinema Paradiso is enhanced greatly by Ennio and Andrea Morricone’s lush score, and is essential viewing for anyone who has ever been moved by the magic and power of the movies.
