Cincinnati Parks + Rec for Wellness Monthly Hiking Series- Lincoln Ware

Join us for a special edition of the Monthly Walking Series in Cincinnati Parks on the fifth Saturday of August, hosted by the Lincoln Ware Walking Club. This series is part of the Cincinnati Parks + Rec for Wellness program, bringing 24 weeks of consistent opportunities from May through October to move, connect, and thrive in nature across our city's parks. Enjoy a one-hour guided walk through one of Cincinnati’s signature downtown parks, taking in fresh air, riverfront views, and community energy.

The Lincoln Ware Walking Club, inspired by the legendary radio host’s passion for community and wellness, brings people together to walk, talk, and stay active. With the motto “WALKING TOWARDS A HEALTHIER YOU,” the group promotes healthy living, social connection, and city pride.

This month, we’ll meet at Smale Riverfront Park—gather at the Black Music Walk of Fame on West Mehring Way, across from Paycor Stadium. Before the walk, take time to explore this interactive, immersive experience celebrating Cincinnati’s legendary Black musicians, artists, and cultural contributions.

Parking is available in the Central Riverfront Garage, accessible from Mehring Way near Elm Street. Follow the signs to the Black Music Walk of Fame entrance.

We’ll stroll along the riverfront through beautifully designed paths and gardens, taking in views of the Roebling Bridge, the Ohio River, and downtown Cincinnati, and experience the Black Music Walk of Fame.
