Cimarron 615 oozes world-class songcraft and innate musicality paired with sweet vocal harmonies, moving lyrics, and taut, exciting solos. They smoothly marry bluegrass instrumentation (banjo, mandolin, Dobro) to breezy California country rock, gritty blues, and pop. Here, Cimarron 615 traverses everything from stripped-down acoustic arrangements to full-on three-guitar rock. Further, the band takes their name from the Poco classic “Rose of Cimarron” and Nashville’s 615 area code. Additionally, every member of Cimarron 615 is a respected songwriter, skilled singer, and virtuosic instrumentalist.Jack Sundrud first joined Poco in the mid-1980s. Then, he became the cornerstone of the lineup through the final incarnation of the band. Prior to joining Poco, Jack accompanied a host of Nashville artists including Vince Gill, Dickie Betts and Michael Johnson.
Michael Webb moved to Nashville from his native Kentucky and was playing shows before he’d unpacked his car! He’s toured with Hank Williams, Jr., John Fogerty and many in between. Michael joined Poco in 2010, showcasing improvisational chops that delighted longtime fans.
Rick Lonow has long been revered in Nashville as one of the most solid, dependable drummers in town. However, he made his mark as a Poco songwriter years before he joined the band in 2016. He co-wrote one of the band’s last hit singles, “Call It Love”.
Ronnie Guilbeau was the last musician to join Cimarron 615, though he had an immediate stylistic impact on the band’s sound. Additionally, he’s an extraordinary guitarist from the school that gave us The Byrds, Eagles, and Flying Burrito Brothers. Here, his powerhouse songwriting and guitar-slinging chops and expertise bring a grittier sound to an otherwise sweet-sounding group.
